Is a position at a law firm the right place for you?
Unfortunately, it's difficult to say because one law firm is different from the next. Your experience in a law firm may be completely different from someone else's due to your specific environment.

- Prestige of the firm
- Individuals currently employed at the firm
- Type of work offered at the firm

Another factor to consider is that it is definitely a possible for a Patent Agent to fit in at a law firm. Law firms all over the country hire Patent Agents in addition to Patent Attorneys. While you will not be able to litigate patent infringement cases, you will be able to write and prosecute patents.
Starting out as a Patent Agent at a law firm allows you to determine if you want to pursue a law degree. You may even be able to get help financing law school through your firm.
