Our Patent Bar review course is broken down into 3 steps. You learn introductory material first, then the details of patent law, and finally you review practice exam questions. The following article covers this first step in detail.

Anytime you begin learning something new it’s wise to gain an overview first.  Otherwise you’ll spend most of your time feeling frustrated. As you can imagine, this is the worst state of mind to be in when you're trying to learn a new topic. 

With that in mind, we’ve created our Basic Patent Training™ course to give you a solid foundation in patent law. It's an interactive, online multimedia course sure to short-cut your learning curve.

The bulk of the online training course consists of 9 easy to digest modules made up of several core topics. The topics include interactive quiz questions to make sure you're learning the material.  Listen in and read the modules as you progress. Review key terms in the glossary.

This elearning platform was created to help you consume the information faster so you can immediately gain a solid foundation of patent law. This is one reason why our course is perfect even if you have no previous knowledge of patent law.

The online course is created in flash so it works on virtually any computer. If you do not already have flash installed it's freely available from the www.Adobe.com website.

One advantage of the online course is that you may start working through it immediately after enrolling in the Patent Bar review program. If you're in a crunch for time (for example, you've applied for the exam and your 90-day window period is ticking down) then this will come in especially useful. If you are diligent, it is possible to complete this first part of the course by the time your package arrives via UPS.

In addition to the online course component, Step I also includes a printed version of both the Modules and Quizzes manual and the Glossary of Patent Law Terms.  This is pefect for you if you're not especially tech savvy or would rather read the material in printed format rather than on the computer. And the printed version of the Glossary will come in as a handy reference throughout your preparations.  We also give you access to our Client Center where you may download MP3’s of the Modules in audio format and listen to them while you’re on the go.

As you can see, Step I of our program will lay a solid foundation for you. The wide variety of formats (interactive multimedia, audio, and text) means you can learn this introductory material as quickly as possible. With our step-by-step course, having absolutely no prior knowledge of patent law will not slow you down at all when preparing for the Patent Bar exam.

Once you review the online course and the printed manuals, you'll have gained the knowledge you need to learn the details of the MPEP. You will begin covering the details of the MPEP in Step II of the Patent Bar review program.
