Flashcards enable you to focus on one bite-sized piece of information at a time. Review the information again and again -- make sure you really know it before you progress. Best of all, with flashcards, each time you progress, you can quickly and easily review what you just learned to really cement it in your mind.

This method of learning through repetition has been shown to be highly effective. Which is why flashcards are an invaluable tool when you're preparing for an exam.

So at the request of our clients, we decided to develop a new piece of software to create an interactive flashcard experience.

This software (called PectoViewer) works just like traditional flashcards you've seen and probably even used before. But rather than merely testing yourself with the front and then flipping over to the back, the software provides you with a much more powerful learning experience.

For starters, you can mark certain cards as memorized. This means you only need to spend your time reviewing the cards you have not yet learned. Maximize your study time by focusing in on your weak areas.

The cards are organized by category. You may jump ahead or go back with the click of your mouse to re-visit a particular category. This feature will allow you to review the crucial information in short sessions. Whether you have 10 minutes or 2-hours, the software will allow you to work within your time frame.

With a click of a button, the software crosses out the terms you have memorized. When everything has been memorized, you know you're ready! Measure your success and get closer and closer to your goal. Save your session so you know how many questions you have left to work with for next time.

Shuffle the deck just like regular flashcards. Really learn the material instead of becoming too familiar with their order!

The software will time your session and provide you with detailed statistics. Accurately gauge how long you're spending on each question. As you know, time is crucial when taking the Patent Bar Exam.

Here are a few screenshots to show you exactly what this software will do...

1	The screenshot to the right shows the "front" of a PectoViewer card. The word you need to define or the question you need to answer is presented on the front of the card. As you can see, you can scroll forward or backward and click "Memorized Card?" to indicate you know the material on the card.
2	This next screenshot shows the "back" of a PectoViewer card. The back shows the definition or answer to the question on the front of the card. Each answer or definition is presented in a concise sentence or two.
3	Each deck has a number of cards assorted by category. When you click on the "Categories" tab, all the categories and all the individual cards are shown. You may minimize and maximize the categories to see each card within it. The cards with a line drawn through them indicate that you have them memorized. This tab also lets you know how many cards are in the deck and the total number you have memorized.
4	This last screenshot shows the "Analytics" tab. This tab keeps track of the statistics for each session. It shows you how many cards you completed during the session, the total time spent, and the average time spent on each card. In addition, the number of cards you memorized during the session is shown along with the most studied category.
