5th Paragraph

The 5th paragraph states that a multiple dependent claim may only contain a reference to more than one previous claim in the alternative form (it must use "or" or a like term instead of "and"). It also states that the multiple dependent claim should refer back to more than one previous claim and then specify a further limitation of the subject matter.

Furthermore, multiple dependent claims should not serve as a basis for any other multiple dependent claim. And, just like dependent claims, a multiple dependent claim shall be construed to incorporate by reference all the limitations of the particular claim that it refers back to.
