- True/false questions
- Answers to every question
The Workbook’s introduction is filled with general information on the Patent Bar exam. It will provide you with an overview of the who’s, what’s, when’s, where’s and how to’s of the exam.
The Workbook tests your knowledge of every chapter in the MPEP (which is what the Patent Bar exam covers). It has been completely updated to reflect the current version of the MPEP which is Edition 9, Revision 10.2019. The America Invents Act (AIA) is also covered extensively (both pre-AIA and AIA version where necessary) along with the Patent Law Treaty (PLT), Subject Matter Eligibility, in addition to coverage of MPEP chapters 100 through 2900.
The Workbook also includes 5 appendices and 6 Updates sections. The appendices focus on the heavily tested Prior Art Rejections (including an overview, 35 U.S.C. 102, 35 U.S.C. 103, disqualifying prior art, and 35 U.S.C. 112). The Updates sections cover the material in the USPTO exam notices including New Trial Proceedings, Derivations, Representation of Others, PPH Program, Claim Construction, and New Trial Amendments.
Focus on the Tested Material
The Workbook focuses on the chapters that are most heavily tested. Don’t waste your time learning what is never covered on the exam. Learn exactly what you need to know to pass the Patent Bar the first time.
Each chapter of the Prep Workbook includes a short answer section along with true/false and fill-in-the-blank questions. Complete answers are included.
The best way to use the Prep Workbook is to follow along with either the MPEP or another study aid such as our Guidebooks to Patent Law. You may use these additional materials as you answer the questions.
The Patent Bar is an open book exam so taking the time to learn where the topics are within the MPEP is a valuable exercise. Completing the Workbook will help you learn where the topics are within the MPEP as you gain detailed knowledge of the material.
No other study process works as well as an active learning system. Studies have shown that students who integrate active learning into their preparations (for any test) do better than those that only passively learn the material.
